FINALLY. A local sushi joint. The delta has been missing this for far too long. Sure, some establishments claim to do a "sushi night", but it's usually overpriced and they run out of sushi because of the demand. Know one place that won't ever run out of sushi?
Yamato's! It's located in the strip mall beside Wal-Mart in Greenville. I come to this place frequently, and have never had a bad experience. The staff is polite, the service is speedy, and the food is delicious. They have a large menu and offer many types of rolls.
When I go to Yamato's, I usually get some gyoza dumplings for an appetizer, and the eel and avocado roll as my main course. They really know how to do it here.
I have heard rumors that they were opening sister restaurants in Cleveland and Greenwood, but I don't know the truth to that. Hopefully they will. -

This restaurant charges are outlandish and, because the Hostess / Manager, Cook, and, or the Waiter cannot get Orders CORRECT you will dearly PayThePrice . We used to frequent here at least 3 times or more a month ; BUT during our last couple of visits the Portions NEVER seem the same, and, the charges keep going up wPortion sizes decreasing. In Plain English : Because I want to " Add on " an item from the LunchMenu doesn't mean I
" changed to the DinnerMenu " . . making for a substantial $$ charge . -

Ate here on 7/24/14 for dinner. It does offer a wide range of sushi rolls, mostly with things like crawfish or catfish in them. Not a lot of traditional Japanese items like chirishi or sashimi.
I ordered the salmon hibachi dinner which came with soup, salad. Veggies and fried rice. I got the miso soup (other choice was onion soup) and found it to be very good--savory broth with lots of seaweed and tofu. I got the sesame salad dressong on the salad and found it to be quite good. However, for some reason there was about a 1/2 of water in the bottom of the bowl. Salmon looked like a frozen piece but portion and taste was fair to good. Rice and veggies were quite tasty. Service was prompt and kept the tea glass filled. Price was 9.95 for the dinner plus drink. I woukd go back and try some other options. -

Ordered the spicy crawfish roll and tempura roll and it was delicious. Cashier was friendly and it and the atmosphere was nice. Really enjoyed it but the prices could be better.
